About the Publication

Going deeper than
the surface.

Who We Are

A student-led social sciences publication.

Between the Lines is a student social sciences publication. Most analysis is two-dimensional — we try to make it three.

We exist because the most interesting analysis rarely fits in an A-level blog. We read widely, disagree openly, and write the kind of pieces we wish existed when we were trying to make sense of things.

Independent. Non-commercial. Student-led.

Our Principles

No jargon.

We write for curious people, not just specialists. If an idea can't be explained clearly, it hasn't been understood clearly.

No hedging.

We make arguments and stand behind them. Analysis that refuses to reach a conclusion isn't analysis — it's evasion.

Just the argument.

Most analysis is two-dimensional. We try to make it three — looking past the obvious take into what's actually going on.
